PEST CONTROL WARRANTY
WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS…
Your “4 Pest Pack” Pest Control Service treats Cockroaches, Silverfish, Spiders & Ants only. This service includes a 6 month warranty against infestations* of Cockroaches & Silverfish (in indoor areas only) and a 3 month warranty against infestations* of Spiders (in indoor areas only). The warranty period remains with the original customer only and is not transferrable to new occupants of the treated premises.
No warranty is provided for German Cockroaches, Ants or Rodents.
No warranty is provided for any pests in outdoor areas.
No warranty is provided for any FREE Pest Control Services performed.
No warranty is provided if a partial treatment is performed (ie no access or exclusion of any rooms/areas within the home).
Pest Control cannot be viewed as a “force-field” that will stop all pests from entering your home. We simply cannot stop pests from entering, BUT we place the pest control products in the home so that when pests DO enter, at some point they will crawl over the treated areas and then die, provided that you haven’t mopped the applied product off the skirting boards.
* INFESTATION DEFINITION – An Infestation is defined as the state of being invaded or overrun by pests (i.e., 20+ live cockroaches), and will normally be treated free of charge, as long as you have not removed the product from the applied areas (see below regarding mopping). After your pest control treatment has been applied, if you see 1 or 2 cockroaches or spiders here or there – this is not and infestation and is not covered under our warranty, as the cockroaches and spiders may have come through an open window or door. Chances are – when you see the same cockroach or spider tomorrow, he will be upside down and dead, due to the treatment that has been put in place. If you are experiencing an infestation after your pest control service, please email or text our office with photos of the infestation.
REMEMBER… Queensland is a tropical environment overrun with pests! Our job is to manage pest numbers and infestations. Completely eliminating all pest activity in your home is not possible.
PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS…
All products used by Silk’s Pest Control are approved by The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). A Pest Management Activity Record will be provided to you on the day with your documentation.
AFTER YOUR PEST CONTROL SERVICE HAS BEEN COMPLETED…
CLEANING INTERNAL AREAS…
The surface spray that we use can last up to 6 months for internal areas if the surface spray is left in place.
DO NOT MOP UP AGAINST THE WALLS – If you mop against the walls, you will remove the surface spray that has been applied. When mopping your floors, stay approximately 5cm away from the base of the walls/skirting boards.
ALTERNATIVES TO MOPPING…
If dust or dirt builds up next to the walls, instead of mopping, use a soft bristled broom against the walls/skirting boards. For a surface spray to remain effective over long periods of time, they need to be left in place where the pest technician has applied the treatment on the surface.
HOW TO KEEP PESTS OUT OF YOUR HOME…
DOORS + WINDOWS…
Where you are able to, keep your doors and windows closed or flyscreens closed during the day and night to prevent pests flying in from outside.
COCKROACHES + SILVERFISH…
These pests can be brought into the house in storage boxes and containers, so ensure that you check all boxes and containers for pest activity before bringing them inside.
GERMAN COCKROACHES…
In our experience, one of the biggest causes of German Cockroach infestations is from fruit shops and supermarkets. When bringing your shopping home in cardboard boxes, it is recommended that you empty the boxes immediately and dispose of the box immediately in the bin outside. German Cockroaches like to place eggs in the cardboard corrugation and when those eggs hatch in your home – you can experience large infestation problems if they are not detected early.
TIPS TO MINIMISE COCKROACH ACTIVITY IN YOUR HOME…
– Do not Mop the Pest Control Treatment off the internal skirting boards for 6 months (This is most important!)
– Do not leave ANY food (including pet food) or open drinks out on kitchen counters or in rooms or bedrooms.
– Wipe down all kitchen benches & surfaces with antibacterial wipes after use.
– Clean up all spills and crumbs as they occur.
– Ensure that all Toasters, Kettles & Air-Fryers are cleaned out immediately after use.
– Cockroaches & Insects can be brought into your home in cardboard boxes, so ensure all boxes are clear of pests/insect eggs before bringing them into the home.
– Keep garbage cans & recycling bins clean. Empty bins before you go to bed and rinse out bottles and cans before they go in the recycle bin.
– Ensure all door and window screens are in good condition and don’t have any holes in them.
– Don’t store boxes or papers as cockroaches like to hide and nest in piles of carboard or papers. – Don’t forget to regularly clean the food trap out in your dishwasher.
